Description

Grape varieties: Alicante, Carignan, Grenache, Caladoc

Production area: Communes of Sablet and Gigondas (outside the appellation area), along the banks of the Ouvèze.

Grenache: Iconic grape variety of the Rhône Valley. Grenache Noir originated in Aragon, Spain, during the Middle Ages. It is one of the most widely used grape varieties in the world. It is a versatile grape variety that charms as much with its warmth as with the roundness of its character. For reds, it imparts genuine, heady fullness and spicy aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry. Au Terme: old vines over 60 years old.

Alicante: Of Spanish origin, the Alicante variety spread to France after 1855; it is a cross between Petit Bouchet and Grenache Noir. Alicante is one of the few black grape varieties with red juice. Grape variety known as a *teinturier* (dyer grape). Its aromas of ripe red and black berries, enhanced by woody notes, combine with a fleshy tannic structure. Very harmonious on the palate, round and full, with a long finish. Au Terme: old vines over 60 years old.

Carignan: Grape variety of Spanish origin, from the Aragon region. It withstands drought and strong winds perfectly. In soils of low fertility, it produces a wine with a beautiful color, structure, and tannins. It also offers notes of spices or fruits such as prune, black cherry, or blackberry. It is almost always blended with other grape varieties. Au Terme: old vines over 60 years old.

Caladoc: It is the result of a cross between Grenache Noir and Malbec in 1958. Grape variety resistant to drought and pests. Often used in blends, where it adds complexity and good aging potential. On the palate, it offers characteristic red fruit notes, lovely roundness, and a fine tannic structure. At Le Terme: 4-year-old vines, replanted to replace very old Grenache.

Hand-harvesting, destemming, low-temperature fermentation (not exceeding 26°C), and short maceration. Malo is done.

Bottled for the first time this year, this wine was previously sold in bulk to merchants.
An appealing red wine that is low in alcohol; enjoy it slightly chilled as an aperitif or with summer barbecues.
